Ethics & Data Transparency
Transparency builds trust. This explains how Infinite Library works, where our AI comes from, and how we approach AI-assisted writing ethically.
What Infinite Library Is
Augmented Authorship: A New Era.
Infinite Library is a platform for augmented authorship. It creates a partnership where human creativity provides the direction and soul, while AI provides the structure and draft.
Authors have always used tools. Quills. Typewriters. Word processors. Ghostwriters. Each changed how we write. None changed what makes writing meaningful. Your vision and voice remain yours.
This tool is for people who struggle with time, structure, or finishing. It's a legitimate path to authorship for those who focus on the story, not just the typing.
Where Our AI Models Come From
Infinite Library uses third-party AI services: Anthropic's Claude models write and typeset books in the Bindery studio, OpenAI models power select library and audio features, and DeepL supports translation. These providers train their own models on:
- Publicly available text from the internet
- Licensed datasets
- Public domain books and documents
We do not train AI models ourselves. We rely on providers who state they follow ethical data practices and do not use customer API data to train their models.
The AI does not copy or extract text from copyrighted books. It generates original text based on patterns learned during training. Each output is probabilistically unique to your prompt.
Why AI-Generated Content Is Not Plagiarism
Plagiarism is copying someone's work and claiming it as your own. AI models do not store or retrieve copyrighted text. They learn patterns from training data and generate new text based on those patterns and your instructions.
Think of it like a musician who learns from listening to thousands of songs, then writes their own music. The influences exist, but the output is original.
That said, we encourage users to:
- Review and revise all AI-generated content
- Add personal experiences, voice, and perspective
- Use plagiarism checkers before publishing
- Follow ethical publishing practices
Content Ownership & Rights
You own 100% of the content you create with Infinite Library, including all intellectual property rights. You are free to publish, sell, or distribute your work however you choose.
Attribution is optional. You are not required to disclose that AI was used, though some authors choose to mention it voluntarily.
We do not use your prompts, uploaded files, or generated content to train AI models. Your data remains private.
Addressing Output Quality
AI-generated drafts can feel generic, repetitive, or formulaic if your prompts lack detail. To improve quality:
- Provide specific instructions, examples, and constraints
- Describe tone, voice, and style preferences clearly
- Test with a short draft (2-4k words) before scaling up
- Treat the output as a first draft that needs human revision
We are committed to improving prompt guidance and quality controls to help users create better first drafts.
Who This Is For
Infinite Library is for people who:
- Have ideas, drafts, or research but struggle with structure or finishing
- Need to overcome writer's block or skip the blank page
- Want a complete first draft to revise and develop
This is NOT for people who:
- Love writing every word themselves
- View the struggle as essential to creativity
- Want credit without contributing vision or revision
Addressing Cultural Concerns
We recognize that AI-assisted writing raises questions about cultural values, creative identity, and what it means to be an author. These concerns are valid and important.
Our goal is not to devalue human creativity, but to make storytelling more accessible. Throughout history, tools have changed how we create — but the human need to tell stories remains constant.
We believe the heart of authorship is the creative vision, emotional truth, and unique perspective — not the mechanical act of typing words. Infinite Library aims to support the former while accelerating the latter.
